We’re confident that MCT is the most cost effective IT provider you’ve come across…and here’s why

don't know where to begin?

if you had enough time to learn all the tech lingo you probably wouldn’t be looking at I.T. companies

We make it a point to cut out the tech jargon so your decisions are clearly informed. If you’re in the search for an IT company here are some terms you’ll hear thrown around…

Usually presented as a “suite of services” to protect your business. This should be a standard offering for any decent IT group. However, these services are often sold to the IT provider as a bundled package which can come with it’s own problems.

If you’re shopping around for an IT provider, here’s a freebie.

During the sales meeting listen for generic terms like their services like “Antivirus” or “Cloud Backups”. Then ask them what specific software they use and why they chose it.

In fact, if you look at out service levels below, you’ll notice that there are no specific products listed.

Systems and services that can be accessed over the internet without a dedicated spot in your office for hardware.

In short, it means off-site

Beware! this is not the same as backups. You’d be surprised how many “IT” experts don’t know the difference.

Think of backups like a generator for when the power goes out at your home.

Think of DR like a 2nd home in another state. It will cost more, but you have somewhere to go in the event of a natural disaster.

Also referred to as “patch management”, it is just a fancy way to say check and apply updates.

You need to keep your computers and other technology up to date to keep running and stay secure.

Most people just like that it keeps their computer from rebooting in the middle of the day.

Although it’s not listed outright, we include patching as part of our “enforced security policies”.

RMM stands for Remote Monitoring and Management (software). If your IT provider doesn’t live out of their RMM day in and day out…Run! This is might be the single most critical tool to provide great service. We use NinjaOne to proactively manage and support our customers computers and servers.

On a side note, it’s important to remember that purchasing licenses does not make you an expert. A properly configured RMM takes time and experience. We’ve built dozens of custom scripts and workflows to enhance our customers coverage.

Maintenance Windows are a bit old school. There may be some older software out there that requires afterhours downtime, but that’s not what IT providers are usually referring to.

We took a step back and asked why are there maintenance windows in the first place?

  • Backup Config Files
  • Apply updates
  • Reboot systems
  • Review Logs

We’ve automated all checklists and actions that would typically be done once or twice monthly. Now there is no unnecessary delay to perform maintenance tasks.

Do you know if you are getting what you pay for?

Seriously, we’ll help you audit your IT spend and educate you about were to best allocate your technology budget.
